So, what’s new on our new winter menu?

We have a brand-new menu just for Cornwall’s colder season, to warm, nourish and indulge our diners, created by Grant Goodson who has been our Head Chef from the day we opened. You can expect real winter warmers created from fresh, seasonal, autumnal produce to enjoy after a windy walk on the beach or a day exploring the chilly coast. Just some of the hearty dishes on offer include beef shin ragu and handmade fettuccine as well as ribollita soup with beans and kale, but Grant’s personal favourite has to be the tasty crab tortellini. Our produce is up to 70% local within twenty five miles, including seasonal vegetables, Cornish beef and Porthilly mussels. This way, not only do we support local vendors, our delicious, fresh dishes truly provide you with a taste of the finest Cornish produce, too.

Food at The Atlantic, Polzeath

We would describe our menu as simple, accessible and full of flavour. Flour is one of our favourite ingredients to work with and because it is so versatile, it makes up a lot of our menu! Using so much of it means we only use the highest quality 00 flour, direct from Italy, to make authentic tasting pizza and pasta, fermenting our doughs for 24 hours. Just one of the pizzas on our menu is the pesca e coppa, topped with dry-aged coppa, Italian peach, garlic oil feta and rocket for a taste of Italy right here on the Cornish coast. Alternatively, we offer the indulgent capesante e piselli complete with Cornish scallops, white wine cream sauce, peas and fior fi latte as well as twists on the classics like our pepperoni pizza topped with San Marzano tomatoes, and the Nduja, drizzled with honey and delicious mozzarella. After something warming from our new winter menu, treat yourself to a luxurious dessert or a scoop of award-winning Treleavens ice cream, made on our farm just 15 miles away, while you watch the sun set beneath the horizon.

Something for everyone

We have something on the menu for all diets, so everyone can enjoy our dishes whether you follow a carnivorous, vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free lifestyle. Our new brunch menu includes smashed avocado, tofu butter and shitake mushroom for a hearty plate without compromising on flavour. We always make sure to have a varied selection of specials showcasing the best of the season too, just in case you fancied something that doesn’t normally feature on our menu. This is a great opportunity to try something new and inventive by Grant, although his personal favourites include anything pasta-based! If you are spoilt for choice with main courses, simply follow Grant’s advice and order some smaller plates instead. He recommends ordering two or three per person and sharing them family-style across the table so everyone can get a taste of everything.

We also have an array of beverages to either accompany your choice of winter warmer, act as the perfect after-dinner tipple, or become the main course itself. We offer a large number of delicious cocktails too, including our Rhubarb Blushing Mule made with Tarquin’s rhubarb and raspberry gin, a Negroni Sbagliato with Campari, and classics like fruity Cosmopolitans and refreshing Dark and Stormies, guaranteed to hit the spot. Our selection of beers, wine and cocktails, shaken and stirred from our restaurant, are made to be sipped from our corner of Polzeath under a sky of sweeping pinks and oranges as the sun goes down. For our non-drinking diners, choose from a selection of ice-cold soft drinks or delicious non-alcoholic cocktails, like the Polzeath Sunset made from apple juice, orange juice and grenadine, or the refreshing mint-infused Ruby Cooler, all of which are just as flavourful as the real thing.

Come and give us a visit to try out our new menu of winter warmers, freshly cooked and sourced from within the Duchy and designed to be enjoyed from our picturesque location overlooking our namesake, the Atlantic. With a taste and a tipple for everyone, there is no reason not to sit back, relax under the winter sun and indulge in our delicious dishes and drinks.
